Due to COVID-19, the annual residential field trips for Grades 4 through 8 were canceled this year. According to our medical consultant, overnight trips are the highest risk activity due to children spending time without masks and sharing bedrooms.
In order to make up for the lack of trips, we are in the final stages of planning a week-long set of experiences called “Week Without Walls” for our students. We will have a separate set of trips for grades 4 and 5 (June 1-4) and another for grades 6 to 8 (April 19-25). During this time we will focus on making memories, having fun, and being outside exploring the greater Tokyo Area! We have been investigating several options and are finalizing details for options – a full schedule will be shared once the plan is booked. Activities will include a variety of activities including a visit to Fuji Q, scavenger hunts, an on-campus Sports Day, the Lion King, and day trips to Odaiba, Kamakura, and Mt. Takao. We are completing a very thorough risk-assessment and taking Covid-19 risk very seriously.
