Izumi worked at a certified public accounting office for several years where she oversaw the accounts departments of several companies. She gained knowledge of and experience in the Japanese tax system. She is internationally minded having lived in the UK for several years. In addition to her interest in accounting, Izumi used to be an ikebana teacher at the Indonesian Embassy. Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arrangement. She hopes to open a ikebana club again one day. Izumi speaks Japanese and English.
