Lyle is an American citizen, who has lived in Japan, the UK and Switzerland. Lyle has relevant experience in both the education and corporate sectors.
He taught IB Diploma Mathematics & Chemistry for two years and English as a Second Language for four years. He also has eight years of experience leading university recruitment where he developed a passion for equal opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the subjects’ related careers. Experience in an exchange program in rural Gifu sparked Lyle’s lifelong interest in Japan.
He now speaks, reads and writes Japanese fluently. Lyle’s wife Jo volunteers for the TIS Parents Support Association.
Lyle enjoys skiing, rowing, reading (fiction and non-fiction) and has been working on improving his sourdough bread baking.
Lyle speaks English and Japanese.
