BA History, MEd Counseling, Teaching Certification
Anita is beginning her 19th year in education. She began her career as a fourth grade teacher in Houston, Texas. She has taught all of the elementary core subjects during her career. Anita’s love of history and geography led her to be social studies department chair for her school and a curriculum and exam writer for the district in third grade social studies and fourth grade history. Feeling compelled to use her skills and talents more effectively, Anita returned to university to earn her counseling degree and certification. Most recently, Anita worked for four years at an American school in Cairo, Egypt. There, she served as a fifth grade teacher and three years as counselor in elementary (2 years and middle school (1 year). In her personal time, Anita likes to read, visit museums, and travel. Anita is a huge Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who fan. She is waiting patiently to return to attending sci-fi conventions in person. Anita speaks English.
