Phil was born in Australia, and grew up near the beach playing with LEGO and having adventures on his BMX bike with friends. With 20+ years of working with young people in a variety of settings including high-risk youth residential work, juvenile justice support, and almost 10 years of school chaplaincy and student wellbeing, Phil has also worked in international school leadership in China (Admissions and Safeguarding). Phil is passionate about pastoral care and safeguarding awareness, having completed multiple tertiary qualifications, including a Masters of International Education (Leadership), a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Studies, and further Graduate qualifications in both Safeguarding and Theology (Pastoral Care).
Despite being much older, now, in his spare time Phil still enjoys playing with and expanding his LEGO collection, and has replaced BMX bikes with adventure motorcycles and overseas exploration. Phil believes that coffee is the elixir of life and enjoys great food. Phil speaks fluent Australian, which is almost decent English, and hopes to honour his German heritage by one day re-learning the German language.
