Ichiro’s first career was a diplomat. Outside of Japan, he lived in United States, Indonesia, France, United Kingdom and Switzerland. After spending over 40 years in government, he turned to academia in the second life. He taught at several universities as a visiting professor. He headed a think tank for 5 years. He is currently leading Kitakamakura Girls’ School. He is married with two daughters and three grand children.
He speaks Japanese and English.
