MEd in Coaching Studies, MA in Sports Management and PhD in Sport and Wellness Promotion
Makoto taught at international schools across Japan for 17 years before leaving education for ASICS, gaining valuable administrative experience in his work with Tokyo 2020 and creating various physical literacy programs for junior athletes during his eight years at ASICS. His heart has always been with education. His wife is also a teacher. Makoto is an avid baseball player. He also likes surfing, skiing and coffee. Makoto speaks Japanese and English.
