Toru lived in sunny San Diego, California for over twelve years where he worked as a General Manager for a golf course in the hospitality sector. Upon his return to Japan, he joined TIS where he enjoys being a part of this culturally diverse community. On weekends when not avidly watching NFL, boxing or the LA Angels’ pitcher Shohei Ohtani, Toru spontaneously likes adventuring about Tokyo and beyond. He delights in discovering new locales with hole-in-the-wall izakayas and taking in local sights like shrines and temples where he collects “goshuin stamps”. A nature lover, he envisions camping in the great outdoors as his next hobby to challenge. He is a big foodie, but shares his all time secret craving is McDonalds. Toru speaks English and Japanese.
